INTRODUCTION

Universal Travel Corporation Pte Ltd was incorporated in the Republic of Singapore on 26 November 1973. The company started official business on 1 May 1975.

Over the last two decades, the company has grown from strength to strength, with its business portfolio covering a wide variety of services.

These include

Although small in number, the company’s main strength lies in its staff force. With a group of loyal, dedicated and efficient employees, many of whom have served the company for more than a decade, it is the envy of many fellow travel agents.

Our service quality, together with our product innovations, gives us a leading edge in the Singapore outbound tour market. Always the first to launch a new destination, we have captured a niche market for ourselves with a large following of loyal & satisfied customers.

BUSINESS ACTIVITIES

OUTBOUND            

Our company started as an outbound operator in 1975, mainly concentrating on overland coach tours to West Malaysia.

Between 1976 to 1978, the scope of our tour operations had extended to Asia to include countries like Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Philippines, Korea and Japan, which were then very popular.

In 1979, we were the pioneer in launching outbound tours to Australia, offering attractive group packages to Perth and later to the Gold Coast. Today, Australia, through our pioneering efforts has become one of the top family holiday destinations for Singaporeans.

In the early eighties, we decided to focus our strategy on the development of niche market products such as adventure holidays & exotic destinations. For the next decade, we succeeded in introducing a whole wide range of new and exciting destinations. These includes Scandinavian countries such as Finland, Sweden, Norway & Denmark; Eastern European countries such as Russia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria; Indian sub-continent countries such as Nepal, Tibet, India & Pakistan and finally Asean countries such as Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. We were also the only company in Singapore that operates tours into North Korea. Across the continent, we also ventured into South America, to countries such as Argentina, Peru, Brazil and Chile.

In 1994, we ventured into operating charter flights into Mongolia. It was a successful project that was repeated again in 1999, 2002 & 2005 on a much bigger scale.

Today, the company is best known in Singapore for being an exotic tour specialist and an operator of the most unusual destinations around the world especially Middle East like Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Iran, Egypt, Tunisia, …..

AIR TICKETING

We are an IATA appointed agent as well as an authorized agent of national carrier Singapore Airlines.

Our main ticketing business comes from the servicing and handling of travel arrangements for some 30 corporate accounts. These include Banks, trading houses, manufacturers and others. The balance of the ticketing business comes from retail customers. We have dealings with almost every carrier represented in Singapore. The major ones we trade with include Singapore Airlines, Finnair, Qantas, British Airways, Thai International,  Garuda, Eva Air  and All Nippon Airways.

We also act as the GSA for Air Koryo, the official carrier of North Korea.

INBOUND

In addition to our extensive Outbound operations, the company is also one of the leading inbound tour operator for the Asian market especially from Myanmar and Mongolia.
