Tour Highlights:-

The Desert in the Mountains,  The land of several passes "The Moonland" the Little TIBET.  Geographically on the Tibetan Plateau located between two highest mountain ranges in the world, the Himalayas and Karakoram.  Its Tibetan culture, which are cut off from the rest of the world for centuries has flourished and left very much untouched.   Its ancient monasteries carved high into the hillsides and its unspoilt villages have remained unchanged over the centuries.  Its unique sceneries and colourful lifestyles of the people who live in harmony with its barren land. 

 

DAY 1: SINGAPORE – DELHI

Assemble at Changi International Airport for your flight to New Delhi, the capital of India. Upon arrival you’ll be met and transfer to hotel for overnight.

 

DAY 2:  DELHI - LEH             (B/L/D)

After breakfast, take a spectacular flight over the Himalayas to Leh.  On arrival, meet and transfer to hotel for overnight. Rest of the day is free to acclimatize.

 

DAY 3: LEH              (B/L/D)

Full day sightseeing of Shey, Thiksey and Hemis monastery.  Shey Palace and Gompa was once the residence of the royal family. According to tradition, it was the seat of power of the pre-Tibetan kinds. A 7.5 m high copper statue of Buddha, plated with gold and the largest of its kind, is installed here. Next visit Thiksey Gompa. Spectacularly sited, Thiksey is one of the largest and architecturally most impressive Gompas. Hemis Gompa is popular due to the major festival that is held there every summer.

 

DAY 4: LEH - ALCHI             (B/L/D)

Full day excursion to Spituk, Alchi, Liker and Lamayaru monasteries. Stipuk Gompa stands prominently on the top of hillock commanding a panoramic view of the Indus Valley for miles. Many icons of Buddha and fine Thankas are found in this 15th century Gompa. Next visit Alchi Gompa, dating a thousand years back. One of its walls features thousands of miniature sized pictures of the Buddha. Three large sized images made of clay and painted brightly are its focal attractions.  Lamayaru Gompa is one of the holiest sites in Ladakh and is also known as Yung Drung (Swastika).

 

DAY 5: ALCHI – LEH               (B/L/D)

Morning we’ll visit Rizong and Chulichan nunnery. Thereafter, proceed for drive back to Leh. Ridzong Gompa is the most isolated monastery in Ladakh whereby no visitors are allowed into the monastery.  It is known as paradise for meditation and one can still find the small caves where Lamas used to meditate for years cutting themselves from the rest of the world except for an one feet square outlet window from where they accept the one time meal of the day.

 

DAY 6: LEH - DELHI                 (B/L/D)

After an early breakfast, transfer to airport for flight back to Delhi. On arrival transfer for a short tour of Old & New Delhi.

 

DAY 7: DELHI - AGRA              (B/L/D)

This morning drive 4/5hrs to Agra. Afternoon visit Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jenan in memory of his beloved Queen Mumtaz Mahal. The construction work took 17 years to be completed (1631 – 1648). Visit Agra Fort, built in 1565 by Emperor Akbak, its walls and palaces are silent witness to the rise and fall of the Mughal Empire.

 

DAY 8: AGRA - DELHI               (B/L/D)

After breakfast, proceed back to Delhi and on arrival free time for shopping till time to transfer to airport for your flight back to Singapore.

 

DAY 9: ARRIVAL SINGAPORE
